The CNN Political Ticker, which seems bent to give uncritical exposure to every inane utterance of Sarah Palin and whichever fringe Teabagger element can contact a producer, has done it again. But this time, they've exposed themselves. Kinda.
The headline reads:
TEA PARTY GROUPS PLAN STRIKE
In the story, however, ONE LONE TEABAGGER tells a CNN website producer that the Teabaggers are going to "strike" against corporate donors who support Obama and his "radical agenda."
But Hardage says the move will not be a boycott: "Here we are exposing the agenda of some of the most widely known companies in America and letting the consumer decide. If a corporation decides to jump into politics to the tune of millions of dollars, then they need to expect that they will alienate some of their customers."
The strike is being promoted online through the organizers' Web site through Web sites of various Tea Party groups and on social networking sites.
Yet, the final line in the story?
CNN reached out to a number of national Tea Party organizations. While some were aware of the planned strike and some not informed, none said they were going to actively take part in the event.
So... the lead item this morning on the CNN Political Ticker, the story with the headline:
TEA PARTY GROUPS PLAN STRIKE
...ultimately gets around, in the final paragraph, to informing you that none of the major teabagger groups is planning to take part.
This is what CNN calls "journalism."
Oh well. Maybe later today Caribou Barbie will say something stupid and they'll run with that.
(What am I saying? "Maybe???")
